Meet Emily Shimwell
"Helloooooo"—I hope you read that in a proper Yorkshire accent because that’s exactly how it’s meant to sound (and how I always answer the phone). Growing up in Northern England, I developed a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures—a decent brew, good company, and a proper chat. But when it comes to my dreams? Well, they’re anything but simple. They're bold, daring, and continually inspiring me to break boundaries and turn the impossible into something real.
Connecting people is my passion, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been searching for the most beautiful way to do just that—enter Dine Wilder Events.
If you know me, you’ll know my door is always open, the kettle is always on, and I’ll happily chase you down the street just to give you a compliment or invite you to my table. Creating spaces where people feel welcome, seen, and deeply connected is at the heart of everything I do.
As a mom of two, juggling more plates than I can count, I made one small but powerful shift at the start of the year—I stopped calling life busy and started calling it full. A full life feels abundant, chosen, and intentional, rather than something that just happens to us. I’d love to help you feel the same.
As the co-founder of Graze Wilder Charcuterie and Squamish Coastal Carpentry, and most recently, the founder of Dine Wilder Events, I’m slowly but surely embracing the truth—I’ve been an entrepreneur since the age of five. Dreaming, creating, and bringing ideas to life has always been part of who I am.
I’m an early riser and a night owl, and my coffee order is as unpredictable as my next big idea. I live by my Why—starting with the emotions I want to evoke, both in myself and others, and craft experiences from there.
I love stories—reading them, writing them, listening to, and telling them. Intentional conversations are what fill my cup, and I’d love nothing more than for you to pull up a seat at the table and share one with me.
Brand building and start-ups set my soul on fire—I light up over new ideas. Be warned: My enthusiasm is infectious and I get extremely giddy over new ideas. If you share a business concept with me, be ready for the unwavering confidence, boundless encouragement, and support needed to bring it to life.
My inbox is always open and I’d love to hear from you.
