The Wilder Side of Small Business: A Panel on Resilience

📍 Location:Wonderlands Coffee, Squamish
✨ Date: Monday March 30 6:30PM – 9PM (ish)

The Wilder Side of Small Business is the second event in our new panel series where we gather a group of badass women for a raw, real and wildly unfiltered conversation about what it actually takes to build a small business. This evening’s topic will be Resilience because if we aren’t that, let’s face it - there’s no way we’re making it in the world of business - or anywhere else for that matter.

While our panel series is geared toward business owners, it’s absolutely open to everyone. Maybe you want to start a business. Maybe you just need a night of inspiration, a reason to laugh, to meet new women in your community, heck - we’re happy even if you’re just coming for the delicious nibbles by Graze Wilder and dreamy drinks from Terravista Vineyards and Sansorium.

You don’t need a business to join us. You simply need to be a self-identifying woman who wants a fabulous night out and an excuse to dress up in a warm, welcoming, safe space.

This is not a dinner event.

Dress code: Relaxed Elegance

Effortless, comfortable, with a touch of intention. Something that feels like a you you don't often take out. (There is no right or wrong with our dress codes - they're about a feeeeeeeling - we want you to feel like you're oozing relaxed elegance).

Meet Your Panel

Robyn Savage

Robynhelps ambitious women put an end to the exhausting cycle of shapeshifting, self-doubt, and spinning their wheels by building sustainable success rooted in who they actually are. Over the years, she has built multiple six- and seven-figure businesses, navigating the many seasons of growth and change that entrepreneurship demands. More recently, profound experiences of grief and loss have deepened her understanding of resilience - not just in business, but in life - and how we continue to create, rebuild, and move forward even through the most challenging seasons.

Melodie Reynolds

Melodieis the founder of Elate Cosmetics, a low-waste beauty brand she launched in 2014 after more than 20 years working inside the beauty industry. Disheartened by the unethical and unsustainable practices she saw firsthand, Melodie chose to build a different path - one rooted in kindness for ourselves, each other, and the planet. Through resilience, conviction, and a willingness to challenge industry norms, she has grown Elate into a mission-driven company redefining what sustainability can look like in the cosmetics world.

We’re so excited to welcome Melodie, who is visiting us from Vancouver Island, to share her perspective on building a values-driven business and staying resilient through change.

Julie Auffret

Julie, visiting from the UK, spent 38 years working in government, starting at reception and working her way up through promotion after promotion. Throughout her career she stepped into roles that demanded immense resilience - from supporting people through financial crisis to working with multi-million-pound businesses.

By the time she retired, Julie was managing a team of 130 people, an experience that reinforced a belief she carried throughout her career: that at its core, leadership is about seeing the people around you as humans first. Oh, and did we mention she’s also the mum of our founder, Emily.
